DJ Arcane
Lipservice - September 14, 2001
My second appearance at Lipservice was set to coincide with the birthday celebration of one of the resident DJs, Miss Joi. The theme for the night was 70s and 80s. Since the other DJ spinning that night had the 80s pretty well covered, I tried to focus more on the 70s. The big surprise was my second set of the night, in which I appeared as "DJ Mothership", complete with Parliament Funkadelic-style space pimp costume, and spun a set of funk and disco. I really need to find someone who has the pictures from this . . . The set went over well, proving that even goths need the funk sometimes.
Depressingly, no one has ever asked me to spin a funk set at a goth/industrial night since.
